Chris Dowin runs Signal & Echo. The company exists because reading, writing, and good storytelling — across forms — is the work he wants to do.

It's unusual to find one operation publishing novels, short stories, and games. The boundaries between those mediums are mostly historical accident, and they leave a lot of interesting cross-grain work unmade. Signal & Echo is built on the suspicion that an author who also makes games, and a games studio that also publishes books, produces better work than either side does alone.

The taste runs eclectic on purpose. Sci-fi by inclination. Literary fiction. Nonfiction about how things actually work. Short stories that don't fit anywhere else. The catalog grows when something feels alive enough to carry.

Books co-authored or written under his own byline appear on the Press catalog. Game work in progress is over at Signal & Echo Games. Publisher-side notes and short pieces live on Transmissions, the Signal & Echo Substack.
